Some types are self regulating and others aren't, so you'll need to be careful when you are purchasing them. It is VERY easy to believe you are investing in a type that won't burn you, only to get it home to learn that it DOES burn you if it is too hot, or not used properly.
And not only are they good to keep your hands hot, but some of them possess adhesive strips on one side of them, so you can keep them in position when you use them on your lower back or in your own shoes.
